Alejandro (Alex) Gutierrez
was born in Chile and currently lives in Sedona, Arizona. He graduated as an engineer and worked in marketing and
management most of his career. He worked in the consumer goods industry for thirteen years with Procter & Gamble
and in the financial industry with Corp Group. His dream was to one day be his own boss, so with other entrepreneurs
he built a successful Internet based incentives and loyalty business, which was acquired in 2006. Alex left the position of CEO of this company in early 2008 (now Grass Roots America) to pursue his next
dream: to write a book about his spiritual journey.
This is Alex Gutierrez’ first book and it reflects more than
ten years of search for the why’s of many religious and spiritual questions. It all started in 1997 when after having
an encounter with cancer, Alex pondered upon the issue of life and death and why we are here. This led him to many different
avenues of discovery, including his Catholic heritage, which he had never really practiced before. He read the philosophers,
as well as the new age books. The Bible was a major source of information. He found much inspiration in Neale Donald Walsh,
Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Karen Armstrong, Thomas Cahill and several others. He also researched individuals who have had unusual talents that allow them to either channel entities or
beings that are not walking earth, such as Edgar Cayce. He interviewed people that claim to be visionaries or channels of
Mary. Alex’s open mind and desire to get to the bottom of the issues and find answers, his lack of attachment to any
movement, group or idea, and his fearless attitude towards religious backslash makes him an ideal author to bring forth such
a complex and controversial topic as the redemptive aspect of Mother Mary. Confirmation of the quality of his book "Mother
Mary's Resurrection" is earning the Finalist award in the Spirituality category of the 2009 Next Generation
Indie Book Awards.
Alex finds much pleasure
in hiking the Sedona red rocks and meditating in nature, working in his garden, reading and writing. It is in the stillness
and quiet of the mind that he finds his greatest inspiration and answers to his many questions. He feels that with this book
about the Vrgin Mary he will provide much clarity to an issue that is complex and many times very emotional. People take differing
religious positions and are willing to defend them with their lives, as we have seen in past history, without even knowing
the true facts that support their positions. They are content with accepting whatever they are told. He hopes this book will
provide sufficient information for readers to make up their own mind. It is possible and necessary for Mother Mary to
be viewed for what she is and not for what men, religion and politics have made people believe.
