This is Alex Gutierrez’ first book and it
reflects more than ten years of search for the why’s of many religious and spiritual questions. It all started in 1997
when after having an encounter with cancer, Alex pondered upon the issue of life and death and why we are here. This led him
to many different avenues of discovery, including his Catholic heritage, which he had never really practiced before. He read
the philosophers, as well as the new age books. The Bible was a major source of information. He found much inspiration in
Neale Donald Walsh, Deepak Chopra, Wayne Dyer, Karen Armstrong, Thomas Cahill and several others.
He also
researched individuals who have had unusual talents that allow them to either channel entities or beings that are not walking
earth, such as Anne Catherine Emmerich, Maria Valtorta, Edgar Cayce, Dolores Cannon, etc. He interviewed people that claim
to be visionaries or channels of Mary. Alex’s open mind and desire to get to the bottom of the issues and find answers,
his lack of attachment to any movement, group or idea, and his fearless attitude makes him an ideal author to bring forth
such a complex and controversial topic as the redemptive aspect of Mother Mary. Confirmation of the quality of his book "Mother Mary's Resurrection" is that it earned the Finalist award in the Spirituality
category of the 2009 Next Generation Indie Book Awards.
Alex finds much pleasure in hiking
the Sedona red rocks and meditating in nature, working in his garden, reading and writing. It is in the stillness and quiet
of the mind that he finds his greatest inspiration and answers to his many questions. He feels that with this book about the
Vrgin Mary he will provide much clarity to an issue that is complex and many times very emotional. People take differing religious
positions and are willing to defend them with their lives, as we have seen in past history, without even knowing the true
facts that support their positions. They are content with accepting whatever they are told. He hopes this book will provide
sufficient information for readers to make up their own mind. It is possible and necessary for Mother Mary to be viewed
for what she is and not for what men, religion and politics have made people believe.
ABOUT THE BOOK: MOTHER MARY´S RESURRECTION
- A BUSINESSMAN's AWAKENING THROUGH OUR UNIVERSAL MOTHER
This is a book about the life of the Virgin Mary and my personal journey of spiritual awakening which
started in 1997 after a crisis in my life which included surviving a cancer operation. It explains how I came to know Mary
and how She touched my heart and transformed me from an arrogant business executive to the more humble person I am now. It
is difficult to deeply love someone you don’t know and Holy Scripture does not provide much information about the life
of the Virgin Mary. The more I read and investigated about Our Lady’s life, the more I was falling in love with Her.
This book compiles information about the Blessed
Virgin from many sources: Holy Scripture, the writing of the saints, from works of Anne Catherine Emmerich and Maria Valtorta,
two extraordinary mystics and visionaries, as well as from the messages of the Virgin Mary apparitions, particularly those
from Our Lady of Medjugorje. I promise you that once you read Mother Mary’s Resurrection it will be easier
to do some of the things that the Virgin Mary has been asking us to do, like praying the rosary, fasting and seeking God in
the silence of our hearts. It is in the silence of our hearts where we can find what God’s will is for us. The more
deeply I knew our Universal Mother the more my heart was filled with Her presence and it was easier for me to do these things
out of pure love and joy that was bursting from my heart. It was
also through studying about Mary's life that I came to understand what it is I need to do to return to Paradise.
As usual there are people who criticise some of the sources of my work. The first is Maria Valtorta, whose
books were once in the "Index of Forbidden Books" of the Vatican. This list was eliminated
by the Vatican in 1966 because the criterion for placing the books in the list was faulty. For example, since
then Sister Faustina Kowalska's, whose work had also been forbidden, was declared a Saint and her Vatican biography
quotes some of the conversations she had with Jesus (channeling) regarding the Divine Mercy devotion. The second holy
woman I quote frequently in my book is Anne Catherine Emmerich, who lived for 12 years only on water
and the Eucharist and who also had many conversations with Jesus and Mary, was beatified by pope John Paul
II.
